Hi, I’m Ben, nice to meet you!

I live in Los Angeles and work as a UX Designer at TechAhead, a full-stack development studio. I engage a variety of clients, first-time founder and Fortune 200 company alike, at a variety of stages, from blank slate to scaling + iterating.

My experience working at an agency has been invaluable. Each project feels like a boot-strapped start-up. I get to quickly try on many hats, squeezing until they fit. I’ve been scrappy, in a word, carrying the baton at many different phases of the product lifecycle.

Each stakeholder wields different motivations; feasibility, timeliness, resource allocation, perfection. As a designer, my advocacy is betrothed to the user, but I have evolved as a mediator to best champion project success. I’ve learned to leverage user empathy as a shared language and as a rally point for unity.

We are a design-first shop; therefore, I am of the first team members to interface with clients. My goal is to lay the foundation not only in output, but also in relationship. To build this rapport on the fly I have personalized a suite of discovery workshops & tools to foster harmony and promote collaboration.

🤖 : Why product design?

I love building things that are never quite perfect – to me UX is like a game of Marco Polo, where our hypotheses are ever honing in upon user delight. Creativity had always been an extracurricular of mine, but UX is my opportunity to weave creation into my legacy. Design in the digital realm is awesome because it requires collaboration. Working across verticals, I have evolved as a mediator and liaison, advocating for the balance of user, process, and profit.
